Ed ViramontesExecutive Director of El Centro de AmistadEd Viramontes is the Executive Director of El Centro de Amistad, with over thirty-five years of service in building strong kids, strong families and strong communities throughout the Greater Los Angeles area. He has a bachelor's degree in education and a secondary provisional teaching credential from the University of Puget Sound, Tacoma, Washington, where he attended school on a football scholarship. Mr. Viramontes also attended the University of LaCross, Wisconsin where he received an Exercise Fitness Specialist Certification on behalf of the Westside Family YMCA. He was a young professional abroad for the International YMCA. His international assignment was to develop fitness education and cardiac rehabilitation for the YMCA of Santiago, Chile in 1976. Upon his return Mr. Viramontes, along with his local YMCA duties, was a Western Regional Trainer for Youth (Feelin' Good) and Seniors (Activetics) on behalf of the National YMCA. |

El Centro de Amistad would like to congratulate Estela Posternak for obtaining her licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist. After receiving her Master’s degree from The Graduate School of Education and Psychology at Pepperdine University, Estela completed her internship at El Centro de Amistad. Ms. Posternak also has a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Las Americas, in Mexico City. She has been involved with the Latino Community at various levels throughout her career and she is presently providing mental health services to the chronically mentally ill adult population at El Centro de Amistad in the San Fernando Valley, as well as working in her private practice in Encino. Ms. Posternak was born in Argentina, raised in Mexico and has lived in Los Angeles for the past 20 years. Her goal is to work in a psychiatric unit with the chronically mentally ill Latino Population. |
